We made it out to the 7pm opening showtime of Marvel Universe Live this Thursday, and let me tell you – it was definitely a show worth watching!
The Avengers have assembled at the Quicken Loans Arena this weekend, and they’ve brought several of their friends along for the ride. With Marvel Universe Live we get the chance to join in on an adventure in which Thor uses his hammer to break apart the Cosmic Cube, known as the ultimate source of power and scatters the pieces. But when Thor’s brother, Loki, collects a few of the pieces to obtain their power, chaos rises and we soon see our favorite heroes battling their most well-known rivals.
When Wolverine, Cyclops and Storm (all mutant members of the X-Men) are held captive, the Avengers and friends assemble to save the day, but Loki opens his portal and escapes with his pieces of the cube and Cyclops and Storm (still held captive). Wolverine insists on going off on his own to help them, and Bruce Banner (the Incredible Hulk) chooses to tag along while the rest of the Avengers work together. They construct a plan to split up teams to different locations in hopes of putting together a bigger cube to fight Loki’s newfound power. This leads us on a path of multiple back to back action scenes with everything from motorcycle stunts to Green Goblin’s glider flying around the Statue of Liberty while Spidey tried to get the upper hand!
Marvel Universe Live is a show the kids will love. My son said his favorite parts were Iron Man and the Hulk, and my daughter absolutely loved all of the awesome stunts and sarcastic jokes from Spiderman. Speaking of these three heroes, they all brought something unique to the show, as did Captain America. Captain America delivered the most bike tricks (aside from one Wolverine delivers in the second half of the show), while Spiderman made awesome entrances hanging upside down, swinging over the crowd, and even standing upside down underneath of the Green Goblin’s glider! Meanwhile the Hulk was built up throughout the show as everyone waited to see Bruce Banner turn into the Hulk, and he certainly didn’t disappoint! Finally, Iron Man and his suit was brought to life by an awesome light show.
